paw prints live
We started Paw Prints Live in August 2009. We were looking to expand our reach
from print and online. Radio seemed like the next logical progression. We started
interviewing some local Kansas City radio stations and after some thought and
salesmanship by one particular station we made a decision. We would do a live radio
talk-show on 1510 AM. It was the sister station of the largest sports talk station, 810
WHB in Kansas City. Our fist show aired September 28th, 2009.
In early 2010 we partnered with a Chicago based internet radio station where we
ended up being rebroadcast every week. We were itching to change time slots and
eventually do our show more than once a week, we wanted to be a daily talk show
and neither of those things were an option for us at our present station. We started
searching for a station where we could start expanding. We found one in town, KCXL
1140 AM and 102.9 FM. We moved to the lunch hour time slot, it also moved us closer to the center of the radio dial. We eventually would be the first station in town to simulcast a live radio talk show on FM, as well as AM.
For nearly three years, we were on the air. On September 18th, 2012, 10 days shy of three years on the air, Dale received a job offer that we couldn't pass up. It would be the offer that would have us residing in Juneau Alaska 33 days later. Our final show, our 140th episode aired on September 28th, 2012. We left Kansas City for Juneau on the morning of October 12th and arrived in Juneau October 22nd.
You can listen to all 140 episodes of our show by clicking here. We hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed producing them.
